A Word from Colin, Julia, and Trinity

Julia: Hi everybody! It's me, Julia and I'm going to tell you about the pacer test we did in P.E. yesterday. One day, on a Thursday, we did the pacer test. The pacer test is where you get a partner and a score sheet. And then you take turns to run with the other people. My partner went first. So you run from one side to the other in the gym (when you hear a beep!) My partner got 13 laps and I got 14. Then we got water. The highest scores were: 1st Round was Austin and he got 53! 2nd Round was Oliver and he got 43! Well, that's all folks! Goodbye now!

Trinity: Hi everybody! This whole week was amazing. I am the gymnastics teacher during recess. I am teaching Tuesday through Friday. I am going to have so much fun!

Colin: Hi guys, I'm making a story but its not very good and it got my friends kicked off the slide. I didn't because I didn't do anything but my friend made up a game on the slide. Also, it would be easy to blame me because I'm their friend and I was also on the slide. So one of my friends pushed my other friend down the slide and my third friend grabs one of their feet. It was actually weird. Again, I didn't do it, all I did was watch them and climbed up the ladder to go down. I did not like what my friends were doing, in a way, but I've seen worse.

A Word from Matejo, Betsy, Elise and Evelin!

Matejo: The Haunted iPads

On Monday, October 7, 2019, everybody was writing when suddenly...Ring! Ring!

"Turn off that timer, " Ms. Golemes said.

Tuesday, everybody was doing math and...Ring! Ring! It was so loud! It must be at my table.

It ended up being Elise's iPad!

Betsy: So, this week has been a little odd. Timers on kids' iPads have been going off but kids haven't been setting the timers! I think it it because of Luna. Luna is a ghost that haunted Ms. Golemes' old classroom. Now, let me tell you the story of Luna. One day, Ms. Golemes walked in but the lights did not turn on. Ms Golemes walked in the classroom and her clock fell on the ground. Then, two books fell off the shelf! The End.

Elise: It was the morning. It was time to go to school then I changed into my clothes. Then, I ate my breakfast. Next, I went to school and I found out that today was the Fun Run! So I will have fun!

Evelin: This week, my iPad set an alarm somehow. It went off during reading and it was super weird. We are about to do the Fun Run. I love when you get popsicles at the end and bracelets. This year, we got squishies!

A Word from Lemonheads, Austin, Evianna, Ollie and Oliver

This weeks bloggers from the Indigo table!
Austin:

On Friday, we played Kahoot! It was really fun, I put in a nickname. My nickname was my name in all caps with two flying money emojis. When we started the game, it was only 5 seconds per question! So, we had to change it to a different game. This time my name was in all caps and a begging emoji with an Earth emoji. I got 4th place!

Evianna:

Did you hear about Ms. Jefferson's small moment? Well first it started out when Ms. Jefferson was in her office. She heard a squeaking noise. She just ignored it. It happened again. She looked around her office. She found a MOUSE! She jumped over her desk and ran to Ms. Kaye. Ms. Kaye told the custodian and Ms. Jefferson was okay.

Ollie:

So, when I came to school, I already knew we were changing seats. Then I got in the class, did all the stuff, and Ms. Golemes shouted, "Hey! We're changing seats today!!!" So I was writing for like 30 minutes and then we changed seats. It was crazy, everyone was running around the classroom. Then, I found out I would be in the same seat but it's okay. But that was the other day. So today we did a Kahoot and I got 6th place!

Oliver:

This week, we started writing our small moments that we will end up publishing. Mine was about FIFA/soccer, Ollie's was about going to Michigan, Evi's was about a trip to Blue Harbor, and Austin's was about a Halloween decoration that was teleporting!
We played Kahoot and if you don't know what it is, it's like timed math. I got 1ST PLACE! It was very fun! I got first place because I was practicing my multiplication.
Lastly, I finished my book today. If you like funny books, check out my review on our class book recommendations Padlet. Click here to access our Padlet.

Oliver and his 1st place win on Kahoot.

A Word from Rosie, Evelin, Danielle and Ji'Kyle!

Ji'Kyle - We got to watch a movie! I wrote my blog post at a special spot in the classroom with a lamp. Ms. Golemes called it my office.

Ji'Kyle, hard at work, writing his blog post in his new, corner office suite.
Danielle - One day, my teacher said it was pajama day on Monday so on Monday I wore my pajamas. But, my friends did not have pj's on. She told me the pajama day had changed to Friday. Now it's Friday, and I wore my pj's again!

Rosie - We got to watch The Emoji Movie because we got 10 paws. Some of the paws came from compliments from Miss Jefferson and Mr. Green. Also, Miss Jefferson told us a small moment story about a mouse in her office. It was really funny!

Amy Jefferson sharing a small moment story with the students during Writing Workshop.
Evelin - Yesterday, Ms. Jefferson came in and told us a story. So, on with the story...At the end of the day, she was sitting at her desk and she heard some squeaking. She looked next to her and she screamed and jumped on the table! Then, she ran to Ms. Kaye and said, "There is a rat in my office!" And the janitor came and took it out.

A word from all of the Lemonheads to kick off our year of blogging!

Julia

Hi Everybody! My name is Julia and I’m a Lemonhead of Ms. Golemes’ Class of 2019. So anyway, today we played Kahoot. Kahoot is an online game where your teacher picks a category and it gives you a special code. Then you find the Kahoot app (or search kahoot.it) and then you enter the code. Next, you make a nickname (we had to do our first names) and then you start! I won and got first place! I love this class!

Miles - My First Time Doing Multiplication

It was a bright, sunny day and I was going to 3rd grade. When I first walked in, I sat down and I realized that we were doing multiplication. Weeks later, I still don’t know how to do multiplication, but I will get it soon.

Matejo

Hi ladies and gentleman, my name is Matejo and I going to tell you my blog. We were called Adidas. My teammates, Libby, J3, Liv and Nico were against the Nike team. They were kicking off. Libby caught the ball and she gave it to me. I got the touchdown and went for the extra point. They said I should kick it! I was so nervous. I kicked the ball and it was good!

Rosie

The new classroom is so cool! Let me list some fo the things it has: a little sink with soap and paper towels, a TV AND a projector, little book cubbies and a variety of whiteboards.

Elise

One day I was stuck on my math page in my math book. I was doing my homework, messed up but then I figured it out!

Cooper

I want to share with you the day we got our iPads. First, we went to the auditorium and then we lined up. After that, we went back to the classroom.

Colin - Me and My Brother

After school, we were wrestling and my foot got caught in the bed…Here’s what happened. My leg was stuck! It was bent. Five mere seconds and I would have broken my leg but I freed myself. Please readers, DON’T HIDE UNDER YOUR BED!

Ollie - My New School!

So guess what, the new part of the school finally came! So it’s really modern…and organized! A new playground came too! There is a giant slide! And some cool monkey bars. We have table points and names. My table name is Indigo. Bye!

Antonio - A Word from Antonia A.

We just got a new part of the school and a new playground! They’re both really cool! Last year, we found out that third grade gets it all to itself! This year we are so lucky because we’re in third grade! But some of us were too greedy because there are some 2nd graders in the new part of the school too. I honestly think the second graders should have kept the older part of the school because we could have had bigger classrooms. I think bigger classrooms would have been an improvement.

Oliver

Once Ms. Golemes was calling out, "Rosie! Evelin!"

Then I said, "Ms. Golemes, should I go get the girls?"

"Yes," said Ms. Golemes. So I went to go and get them.

I didn't find them. Ms. Golemes was not there. I followed Ms. Ryan's class.

Trinity

In class, Mrs. Golemes kept mixing up Colin and Cooper. In class, I’m learning division. Math is getting harder and I’m learning more.

Evianna - The Day I got my iPad

Once we got down to the auditorium, my heart was beating so fast. Since I was at the end of the line, I took a breath. Then it was my turn. They handed me my iPad. I sat down. I was okay.

Evelin

I loved when the new playground opened but what I didn’t like was the huge line for the slides! And I also didn’t like when the swings weren’t opened yet. And I love the bars.

Betsy

Today is Friday. We got brand new iPads. School is okay, I guess. My favorite day is Friday and Thursday.

Austin

In 3rd grade, we got a new playground. The new playground was really cool. There was a big slide, there were swings too. The swings were cool but they were in the part where people were supposed to walk.

Emmett

When we got our iPads we went to the auditorium. We line up. There were a bunch of iPads. I was so excited! I wanted to so bad. I finally got mine. I couldn’t open it. “Waaaaaaaaa!” We can’t bring them home until October.

Syriah - The New Classroom

We have a TV. We have iPads. We have 2 doors. We have a Jordan jersey. We have the fridge with our work on it. We have a map. We have an iPad cart and we have a clock. Bye.

Lulu - A Word from Lulu

We just got our iPads but we still have not been able to take them home. We have been working on multiplication in math. we got 10 paws so we get to watch a movie next week which is a good thing. It means we got 10 compliments. And, we got a new rug!

A Word from Lemonhead, Stevon!

This week, we got to sign a beam in the lobby. This signed beam is going to be used in the new building. I am excited to see my name on the beam in the new building. During recess, I love to play football. Let me tell you about today's game. I was playing with Myles, Jack, Riley, Calvin, Xavier, Gabby, Amir, and Jake. On the first play, Myles threw the ball to me and I ran for 40 yards. Then, Riley got the ball and scored a touchdown. The game ended abruptly when the ball was accidentally thrown into the construction site.

Thank you for reading my blog post and I hope everyone has a great weekend!
