This week we started our mystery unit. We are working as a class to solve the mystery of our class read aloud book, "The Absent Author." We have a crime board in class to help us gather clues. We are trying to find out who kidnapped Wallis Wallace, the famous author!

Boo yah! We have a two day week this week! We also get a five day weekend. During the five day weekend, Thanksgiving is coming. But sadly, we lost our wood chip playground and they are blocking off half of the field. Good News! We switched from Social Studies to Science. We are also finishing our non-fiction writing. This week the lemonheads have been doing science experiments about water and climate. In math we have been doing more multiplication and more division. And we also are sponsoring a senior citizen and her name is. Antionette (I don't know how to spell it). Also its close to thanksgiving. We played a lot of sports this week. In football Stevon got 3 touchdowns and I got 3 touchdown . Our team captain Myles got 4 touchdowns and Riley got 4 touchdown passes. I hope you have a good thanksgiving. Bye!

My sister was born on Friday, November 16th and her name is Tennessee.

With the construction, now we have less room to play outside. Most of the areas in the field are muddy and there is toooooooo much mud in the classroom.

One thing that I like to do in math is Quizlet Live. Quizlet Live is a game that we use in math sometimes. You get to be on a team of four and you have to work together to get the answers. I love math that is challenging because I love challenges.  We used Quizlet to study math vocabulary including measurement information and other things, too.

Today was the fun run and I had fun. The whole school had fun. Also, we are finishing our final drafts  for our narrative pieces. In math, we used scales to weigh objects in the room. We earned our Paw Party and had iPad free time. iPad free time is the best!

Hello, my name is Myles. This story happened on October 5, 2018. It had to do with my friend Stevon and Amir. It was a football game 10 to 14. We were down by 4 points. It was me, Jack, Riley and Stevon we were going to handoff to Stevon 1st and 10 50 yards to go. Down, set, hike! Fake handoff to Jack then to Stevon. Boom! He just trucked. Ethan, he's down the 50,40,30,20! Here comes Amir! What will happen? Read to find out. Pow! Boom! Pop! Stevon just made a huge play he broke Amir's ankles and trucked him. Calvin, the rookie, is following him down the sideline the 10! the 5! Touchdown! Bears are winning 16 to 14. We are going for the 2 point conversion. Myles will be quarterback. Down, set, hike! I see Riley, he's open! Oh my goodness! Riley made a one Hand catch! it is 18 to 14! Riley with a amazing catch that is going to the top 10!

A Word from Lemonhead, Gabby!

I was very sick and my throat was hurting. I went to the Rush Hospital in Oak Park and I was so mad because I had to wait in the sitting room for like two hours. I was crying so bad and I was also so mad  they were cleaning up the room and I had to wait even longer. Then, I found out that my throat was inflamed. They gave me medicine. My throat still hurts but I was able to come back to school.

Today in school, there is something called the paw party. A paw party is extra RECESS plus iPad TIME. We are about to shoot some hoops.

A Word from Lemonhead, Luke L.

This week, we got a new student. His name is Calvin! We are very excited to have him in our class. On Friday, we had our Paw Party and we got iPad free time. We got to go out for recess after. When recess was over, we had reading. Also this week, in P.E., we had the Heartland Adventure obstacle course. You get to go on a scooter around hula-hoops. You have to bounce a ball while on the scooter. You pull yourself on a rope and then you have to jumprope 10 times. Then you run through hula-hoops, jump hurdles, crawl through a tunnel and have to choose which way you want to go. One way you have to dribble a ball around the gym and the other way you tie ropes around your ankles and jump back and forth with a partner. And we had FUN!

This week all of the Lemonheads have had a lot of indoor recess because of all the rain. But we did go out one time and we discovered Lake Longfellow. Thats a huge puddle that forms when the drain clogs from so much water. Tonight is the Back to School Picnic. I hope the puddle gets a little bit smaller before the picnic.

Thursday we went to a picnic no some parents were there maybe even you went.

I played wiffle ball,I saw some people playing soccer, but I have no idea what everyone else was doing.

Then after a hour or 30 minutes we got popsicles!

Then we went back to playing what we we're playing some people changed what they were playing but I kept on playing whiffle ball!

This week in room 314 (the most awesomest class) we had a giant dance party!

We also had a shortage of paws. People just kept on losing them so we didn't get a paw party. In reading we had book clubs and we read many books. Then today we started to write reviews.And in writing, we are writing adaptations. Well that pretty much sums up the week in room 314 (DO NOT FORGET WE ARE THE BEST CLASS)!

Hola Peeps, this week was crazy. Well you know, now that I think about it, it was not that crazy it just sounds better if I say it that way. This week we had the Tribute to Excellence. Congrats to Gabe and Maggie for winning the citizenship award. This meant that we had 10 minutes of gym. Last night it was talent show night. It was really good. Yesterday we had a surprise art class. We got flowers.  Today we had a practice for our spring music concert. No offense Mrs. Nelson's class but the songs we are doing are better than theirs. Well Nathan is out.

Hello! Did you know that last week we watched a puppet show about bullies? It was great. In the puppet show, there were two girls. One was named Claire and the other was Melanie. There was a boy but I forgot his name. They were great!

And, we are doing fairy tales in writing! And, our fairy tale unit rocks! I am writing an adaptation of Little Red Riding Hood.

Hello! I am Hailey Burchett and I am writing the blog post for the week. So, this week was super fun especially on Thursday. first on Tuesday we had Gym class and we dod gymnasts and there where 2 ropes,  one had bumped on it and the other had no bumps and Maggie claimed BOTH of the ropes to the top and so did Anna did too. Maggie on the rope with bumps touched the CEILING of the gym and it was so cool. But think Bridget's unicorn hat was 20% cooler but still! then later in the day(yes still Thursday) we went to trail-sight museum ant that was super fun!!! there was a bird part with was fun, a hike with was also super fun and my favorite part, the play-ground dun DUN DUN!!! When I left to go wash up because I tried ChiChi's dirt stew. I didn;t swallow it! I don't know if this actually happened but I'm going to trust it, so this post can be slightly more interesting. But, I'm pretty sure that Nate started a little fire. I'm going to trust him because 1: Tt will make this post more interesting and 2: I think that it scientifically would happen. So, Nate took a magnified glass and he held it over some sticks and he said it made a little fire. Well, at least Malaya had water. We kids literally wanted to make the 2018 version of the Great Chicago Fire. We did we literally try as hard as our little minds, hands and bravery would go! We even rubbed rocks together sticks together rocks with sticks and we even made sparks. I wonder what will happen when we are fourth and fifth graders. oh no. We had an AMAZING week. OK people, on Friday the sixth we danced with the munchkins/PKPers and they were so cute. On Thursday we went to Gym and we played a new game called team skatterball. On Wednenday we had Library and I think everyone got what they wanted. On Tuesday we thought maybe we would get our recorders but we did not. Two weeks ago, we finished are carnival rides in lego robotics. Mrs. Junker is going to bring lego people to try the rides. Me and my partner, Anna, made a ride similar to the tea cup ride but in the air. It is called Fyrne Fun (Frost plus Byrne). Other people did roller coasters, bumper cars, etc. are are some pictures.

Last week we started are lego amusement ride's.We also worked on  ''The Great Chicago Fire''. It's really fun to learn about ''The Great Chicago Fire''. A lot of people have different opinions of how it started.On Monday we got to make buildings out of toys it was very fun. Someone came in to talk about buildings and how there made. She even let us put windows, floors,and doors our buildings.A little while ago Ms.Golemes let us have lunch and recess in the class room. So we got that class party. Last week, at the Spelling Bee, Anna said something to Ms. Golemes and Anna won us 30 more minutes of recess! And we had so so so much fun at recess! Another thing that happened was that when we went outside, I was playing basketball but Anna was playing on the blue playground. Also we were going to have more recess anyway because it was nice out . But still Anna got us recess.

Today was Dr. Seuss's birthday and we had a sub named Mrs. Who.  Some people thinks it is Mrs. Golemes because she is doing stuff like Mrs. Golemes.  But some teachers are calling her Mrs. Who and when the office said her name they said Mrs. Who.  Mrs. Who is dressed like one of Dr Seuss's characters, Cindy Lou Who, from the Grinch Who Stole Christmas.  Cindy Lou Who was trying to help the Grinch but that is all I am going to tell you.

Happy Valentines day everyone! In school we have been working on fractions and fraction word problems. Today, we are doing lego robotics.SO FUN!!!!!!!!I loved it!We also once again earn more than are goal of twenty paws.So we had are paw party!Everyone likes a paw party...we also get are recorder form and for our spring concert we are doing African drumming!Our classes music teacher said we are the best class she has had out of all the grades.On Thursday we had a sub that gave us TEN paws, and said we were the best class she'd had ALL year and she is a district sub.
